Age-friendly municipality
An Age-Friendly Municipality (MADA) or MRC is one that:
- Combats ageism;
- Adapts its policies, services and structures;
- Adopts a comprehensive and integrated approach;
- Promotes the participation of seniors;
- Relies on collaborative partnerships and the mobilization of the whole community.
The age-friendly policy and the triennial action plans for both the MRC and the municipalities were adopted. The creation and adoption of such a policy confirms the commitment of these organizations towards the development and sustainability of age-friendly communities. The Ministère de la famille also officially recognized the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent and the five municipalities as being age-friendly.
