The MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent is located on the eastern extremity of the North Shore, between the communities of Kegaska and Blanc-Sablon (Municipalities of Côte-Nord-du-Golfe St-Laurent, Gros-Mécatina, Saint-Augustin, Bonne-Espérance, Blanc-Sablon), with a population of 4 100 citizens living on a territory of 65 148.50 square kilometres.
Description of the position:
Under the authority of the General Director, the person retained as the replacement land planner will have the following responsibilities: elaborate and revise the land use and development plan, prepare urban and development by-laws, see that rules put in place by the government and the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent are respected, elaborate reports or other documents, represent the MRC on regional committees, fulfill any other related tasks.
Requirements:
The candidate must hold a university diploma in land management or in a related field (geography, urban planning, etc.). Experience in a related field would be an asset. The candidate must be able to proficiently communicate in French and English, both spoken and written.
Additional requirements:
The person must be self-sufficient and have initiative. The candidate must be at ease working in a group; have analysis and synthesis qualities and excellent writing capacities. Computer skills are also required (ArcGis). The person must have knowledge of the laws and by-laws in application when it comes to land management.
Work conditions:
The salary offered by the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent will be in accordance to the qualifications and experience of the candidate retained.
Work location:
On the territory of the MRC du Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent (to be determined).
The anticipated starting date will be mid-November 2018.
