New Horizons for Seniors Program - Call for Proposals
The Government of Canada is launching the 2026–2027 Call for Proposals (CFP) for community projects under the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) across Canada.
Deadline for submitting a project: July 14, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
Increase to the maximum grant amount : The maximum grant amount has been increased to $50,000 to strengthen the impact of projects and account for inflation. A limit of $25,000 will apply to expenses related to capital assistance to ensure that part of the funding supports activities that benefit seniors.
Canada Revenue Agency business number required : A valid Canada Revenue Agency business number is required to apply under the 2026–2027 Call for Proposals.
Changes to the assessment criteria : Additional points will be awarded to applications from established organizations whose mandate or mission is primarily focused on seniors.
GCOS is the online platform to use to submit an application : Applications under the 2026–2027 Call for Proposals must be submitted through the Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS) portal. Applicant organizations are encouraged to begin registering for the online service now.
